JOB DESCRIPTION

Waterline Resources is an employee owned environmental and hydrogeological consulting company which delivers high quality, scientifically defensible solutions to its various Western Canada clients. Waterline is currently seeking a Project Accountant based out of our Calgary, Alberta office to join its Accounting Team and support our Project Managers with top-notch project accounting service delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking the following qualifications:

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in Project Accounting.

  • General understanding of a projects-based accounting environment and client invoicing.

  • Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional attention to accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to foster positive working relationships across the accounting and operations teams.

  • A hands-on, jump in to help attitude.

  • Proficiency in navigating accounting software and technology.


JOB DUTIES

The job will involve the following project accounting and project maintenance responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the opening of projects for Project Managers, ensuring all accounting and billing aspects of the projects are complete and accurate.

  • Work collaboratively with Project Managers to complete monthly client invoices and their submissions.

  • Work closely with team members to problem solve complex and/or unique project situations.

  • Support the Accounting Team with other related responsibilities as they arise.
